The first thing I want to do is finish writing about our journey to Stockholm. The flight from Tokyo to Zurich felt very long. Time seemed to pass extremely slowly. At least the food was good on Swiss Air, and we weren’t freezing cold. The flight was also on time at both ends. It was a bit depressing though, that we approached Zurich from the top most part of Russia and flew down to Zurich in a straight line over finland! We could see we were going past Stockholm, with 2.5 hours left to go to get to Zurich. Then we knew we’d have to fly another 2.5 hours back to Stockholm from Zurich, wasting 5 hours of our time in total. If only the plane could have dropped us off in Stockholm on the way to Zurich, or at least given us parachutes.
We have made it to Stockholm. It has been an extremely tiring journey, neither of us has slept for 48 hours. I’ll never again fly for so many hours at once, at least not without traveling business class! The best thing is to stop over somewhere, half way. We are going to go to sleep very soon, so I will keep this short. I’ll write more about the journey tomorrow.
LittleB and I have made it to Tokyo. The plane trip was smooth and ran perfectly to schedule.
Unfortunately the plane was freezing cold for everyone, we all had to cover ourselves with blankets, even our heads and faces. It was uncomfortable in cattle class, neither LittleB or I could sleep at all. The food was terrible, but fortunately I anticipated this and ate two very yummy lamb and vege pies at Sydney airport. They were great, as they should be for $11 each! With my tummy full, I could easily pass on eating the awful dinner on the plane (except for the chocolate brownies), but I was a bit hungry at breakfast time, so I tried a bit of the awful breakfast. It made me feel a bit ill in the stomach, because I only ate a little bit of it. LittleB ate a lot of it though, and it made her feel very ill, upsetting her stomach quite a bit.
In an hour, I will be on my way to Sweden via Japan and Switzerland. I thought I’d write a quick post before I go.
I have decided to leave Igor at home, despite howling protests. Someone has to mind the house, and someone has to have the holiday, and I can’t have a holiday with Igor around! I will however call Igor, using my iPhone and a new “holophone” app (application) I have bought. I’ll be able to appear to Igor as a hologram as we speak to each other. I am looking forward to seeing how that works, and will post the video here after I try.
I have packed, but I have no idea if I have got everything I need. We’ll just have to see.
I’ll be posting here most days to keep you updated with how things are going. I’ll post photos and videos when I get a chance.
BYE!
Well, it is the end of the year and it is time to go away on holidays. Igor wants to come, but I am not sure I want him with me. Below is my itinerary for those who want to know. All times are city local times.
