Day 5 was our last day in Stockholm. We only had a couple of hours available for sightseeing, between breakfast and going to the airport (left the hotel at 11am).
We decided to take a look at the area in front of our hotel. We had become very familiar with everything in every other direction of our hotel. Behind our hotel was the Grand Hotel, and if you keep going further in that direction, you get to Gamla Stan.
To the right of our hotel (as you look at it from the front) is the park where we did the early morning videos on the first morning, and if you keep going you find the large park with the ice skating and a lot of shops, and a little further in the same direction is Sergels Torg.
To the left of the hotel (as you look at it from the front) is nothing really. If you go a little way in that direction, there is just water. On the other side of that water is the Vasa museum.
The area in front of the hotel had been unexplored, at least on foot. On Day 4 we had been on a Hop-on, Hop-off bus, and we saw a lot of the area in front of our hotel, which I have on video. LittleB would have a lot of photos from the ride. It is an area where the more wealthier properties are in Stockholm, and the shopping areas looked very classy. It’s definitely an area we’ll explore next time we are in Stockholm.
We tried to make it to this area I am talking about, but we didn’t have time, we were stopping too much along the way taking photos. As I wrote though, we did get videos and photos from the bus on Day 4. I still haven’t seen the videos yet, I hope they came out ok.
The photos I took are in my gallery here: [Link]
There’s just 72 photos in the Day 5 gallery. I may have taken videos, I don’t remember. If so they are on my computer here somewhere and I’ll upload them some time in the future.
In the photos, you’ll see an army museum we stumbled across (though we only photographed the outside) and the rest are just photos of things we saw along the way of our walk.
This completes my journal for Stockholm, though there is a lot to see in the missing video clips that I am yet to edit and upload, especially from the bus rides where there are many beautiful views of Stockholm. When I get the chance to edit the videos and render them for the web, I’ll add them to the blog posts that they belong to, and edit the blogs to make the days read as “complete” days, and remove all of the “I’ll add this or that later” text. I’ll announce when the videos are added.
That’ll be all.

Great journal and photos, they certainly helped me remember what we did day by day. I have to update my blog!
I took quite a lot of photos too.

I saw a photo, which I think is a cafe with nice sofas seats outside. It looks very cosy. Most of the cars and bicycles are covered with snow. So lovely views.
