Day 3 is Christmas Day, and LittleB got the white Christmas she was after. In the morning we took the Hop On, Hop Off bus again, but this time we started the Blue Line route. We didn’t go far before we decided to Hop Off at Sergals Torg for a look around. Normally this is a very big, and busy shopping area, but on Christmas Day it was deserted. All of my photos from around Sergals Torg are in my gallery here: [Link]- Note the first few photos were taken from inside the bus. A lot of snow had melted, unfortunately, giving the area a dirty look.
After a look around Sergals Torg we hopped on the Hop On, Hop Off again, but only stayed on it for a few minutes before we got off near our hotel, so that LittleB could go to the toilet at our hotel. We then headed off for lunch at Gamla Stan, as we knew a few of the restaurants were going to be open on Christmas Day. Photos of to and from Gamla Stan are here: [Link]. In the photos you will also see photos of the “changing of the guard” at one of the guard posts outside the Royal Palace.
We found a beautiful Italian restaurant in Gamla Stan called Ristorante da Peppe. It was very cosy inside and beautiful. We sat at the window and as we did, it was snowing outside. It was the ideal setting for our Christmas lunch. I ate Linguine alla carbonara, and LittleB ate Linguine al Modo dello Chef. Here is their website: http://www.dapeppe.se/ . It was pretty empty when we were there (the way we like restaurants to be), unlike in their website photos where they look busy and are having a great time with music and singing.
We walked back to the hotel, it was snowing on us all the way. I managed to get a lot of photos of it snowing, but the snow is much easier to see in the full sized photos, rather than in the reduced size photos in my gallery. It’s weird when it snows, because you can’t hear it, or feel it in our Winter clothing. It’s very different to rain, which is uncomfortable to walk in. With snow, you hardly know it is happening, unless it is landing on your face.
I didn’t take many photos today, but I took many video clips, none of which have been posted here yet. Sometime in the future I’ll post them here, but putting together takes more time than I currently have. I have to keep moving!
That’ll be all.
